1. Wipe down
To start, give the area a good dry wipe-down to get rid of any dust.
Apply a cleaning product with a water base after that. Use wood oil soap on stained wooden doors. Use a homemade mixture of four liters (one gallon) of warm water, 250 milliliters (one cup) ammonia, and a generous spritz of mild dishwashing liquid for painted finishes.
To prevent re-dirtying the door, use a natural sponge to scrub it in small, circular motions from the bottom up. Rinse the sponge frequently and produce a fresh batch of cleanser if necessary.

2. Polish the door handle
Pay attention to the door's trims once it has dried. Use plastic wrap fastened using masking tape to shield the surfaces surrounding the doorknob, knocker, kick plate, and other hardware; after that, use a metal cleaner to polish the hardware.Use a gentle cloth moistened with rubbing alcohol to clean door handles.

3. Wobbly doorknobs
To make the spindle on which the knobs turn stretch evenly on both sides of the door, just release the set screws that are holding them in place on either side. Next, move the knobs and fine-tune the set screws to get a tight but comfortable fit.
